Floral Shift Dress & anticipation!

Hello all!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend. We had a great one and had some family come to visit. It's always so great to have them here! And you've probably noticed by my title I'm already feeling the anticipation of baby boy on the way, the possibility of moving to a different state and match day! Gah! Although the moving part isn't until next year around Marchish. If you are wondering what is 'match' day, it's the day that my honey bun is told where we will end up for his anesthesia residency. Basically medical students apply to several schools that have their desired specialty program (ig. dermatology, anesthesia, surgery, internal medicine). Students are usually encouraged to apply to several to improve their chances of receiving an interview and getting ranked by a school.

A 'match' for a student & a school depends on both the students application and the program they are applying to (number of open slots, difficulty to get into etc.) Then by some sort of equation students are "matched" to a program that chose/ranked them after their interviews! And you never know exactly where you will end up, because there are no guarantees. Unless of course you only ranked one school, and only interviewed at one school as well. But that is usually discouraged unless you know without a shadow of a doubt that you will be accepted. And there is always a chance that you will not be ranked by that school even if you ranked them. Phew! As much as my husband has been told (handshakes, nods) that he can apply to one and be accepted, he is NOT into gambling haha especially with our families future. So he is applying to a few in the MidWest area. Interviews will be taking place in October, November and maybe December. Yes, a couple of the months that baby boy may be born! We are both excited, thrilled and anxious! We are hoping for one specific program (the most) but are keeping an open mind as well. I trust everything will be okay!

My husband is submitting his application in the next few weeks (hence the anticipation!) and we would appreciate any positive thoughts, prayers and vibes our way. We also found out that he made the AOA Honor Society! We are so incredibly proud and happy for him! He has worked so tirelessly these past few years and it is so wonderful for him to have this recognition and honor.

Well if you made it through all of that haha! Here is my date night look from this past weekend. This dress is so beautiful and the fit is perfect for my bump. Even though it is not maternity. It was a great buy as well! Have a great week ahead!

  2. ahhh such exciting time! my husband and i were dating for about a year when he was goign through the match process (it's a CRAZY thing!) I was so nervous that he was going to have to go far away for residency but thankfully he stayed in the same city as me. After that he had to interview for his current fellowship position and now he's looking for a full-time gig. it's quite the process but totally worth it! I hope you guys get your top choice, but even if you dont things happen for a reason!! good luck! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
