apple crisp

I love cooking/baking and trying out new recipes. And now that I have a little guy around to help (gotta start them young ;) ) I like to try out all of the recipes that have been in my kitchen cupboards for quite some time. What makes any recipe good are the ingredients. Never skimp and buy fresh and organic-- the taste and quality will be worth it!

This one has become a quick Fall fave: Apple Crisp (I like to use Golden Delicious apples) I hope you have as much fun as lil man and I did baking it-- just love how our place smells like fall amazingness afterwards :)

You'll need:

6-2/3 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2/3 cup white sugar
  2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup water, 1tsp vanilla
2/3 cup quick-cooking oats
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
 1/3 cup butter, melted
(makes 8 servings)
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples. Pour water and vanilla evenly over all.
  • Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees   for about 30 minutes.
