bebe #3: third trimester

At a little over 27 weeks baby girl is the size of a bunch of bananas!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Ours was very busy but a good kind of busy and we got a lot of things done. I know I keep saying this but with all of the changes with our growing family I often look back at the week and am in disbelief that I'm already in my third trimester at 27+ weeks! Don't get me wrong I do have my days that feel like a week but then another week goes by and it literally feels like it's gone so fast! I guess it's true what they say, "the days are long but the years are short!"

So how am I feeling...

I'm going to be very honest with you guys when I write that I feel so much bigger at this stage than with both boys! I'm unsure if it's because it's our third bebe or I'm carrying differently but I am definitely bigger haha! And I kind of freaked out at my OB's office when I found out I had gained 7 lbs since my last visit! I love my OB though because when I mentioned to her I was concerned she says, " Keila, it's your third baby and you'll be fine! Every pregnancy is different and you're healthy so that's all that matters!" Of course , I just wanted to hug her at that point haha! And now that I'm divulging all of this honesty, can I just say that anything related to bread is my weakness?! I do have lots of fruits, healthy smoothies etc. but I probably have twice as much bread. And I don't think it's doing me any favors which means that I started to cut back as well.

I have been adding more squats in my daily routine and now that it's getting warmer I plan to walk more. Although I am so excited  to have baby girl in the summer when it's warm and we can all do more things outdoors, winter indoors gives me little time to stay active (other than running around after the boys). So my challenge is pull out my dusty old more intensive yoga DVD and work out a good sweat! I'm hoping that if I make these small adjustments now that in a month or two I'll have more strength and less unhealthy weight gain.

concerns..

In my last bumpdate here I mentioned that I was concerned about finding a house before baby girl was born. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I announced yesterday that we found one and I am so incredibly thankful and excited! We finalized everything on Friday and in between getting paperwork, meetings, views out of the way the weekend was packed. It is such a huge relief and now I can focus on packing and planning our move. It isn't too far from where we are now and we will still be in the Milwaukee area which we love!

I remember last year around this time when we started house hunting and how stressful it all was for us. Then after our not so good home buying experience we decided to stay in our apartment for another year. I was so frustrated and upset at first but then I realized that this was our now. I had to embrace the changes or I would be sabotaging my own happiness and growth. So I started decorating our place in ways that I loved, got rid of clutter and made it our own as if we weren't ever going to move. Truly that was the best thing that ever happened to us! And now that we are here I am incredibly thankful that we waited because this new place is the perfect fit for us.

Now I can focus more on my health and loosely planning our med-free birth.

what I'm most excited about...

Moving! I'm excited to start going through our things, donating, and packing things up. I know that it's going to be a lot of work especially with me as far along as I am and will be! I figured if we start now slowly we can have everything all set by the time we move in a few weeks. If any of you have any advice/suggestions about moving and especially moving while pregnant with little's feel free to send the advice our way!

I think that pretty much wraps things up for now. If you're expecting and also following our journey I hope that you are feeling well! Pregnancy is beautiful but it's a lot of work. It takes a lot of energy, love and patience but you're doing an amazing job.

Wishing you a great week ahead!

  1. We moved a month after Desmond was born this past year. Totally take advantage of your nesting stage to pack/donate as much as possible. Because I wanted organization, I didn't let the kids help pack, but they loved bringing me the boxes, tape, marker, etc. and that's how I kept them entertained. I wrote a number on each box and then put the corresponding number on an index card and listed the contents. For me, it's easier to look through index cards to find what I'm looking for, and then to go find the box with that number. I hope that makes sense! Good luck packing and moving!! It's exhausting for sure. Congratulations on your new house!
