fave lipsticks!

I hope your weekend has been a warm one! It's in the negatives over here and with the windchill colder than Antarctica. But I still love you Wisconsin! Needless to say we stayed in most of the weekend and I was able to work on a few posts that I've been asked more frequently to write. I'm not an expert when it comes to beauty but I love all aspects of it. Believe me when I tell you that I've gone through so many makeup stages (think tweezed my eyebrows to oblivion)! However, I'm finally feeling like I have a handle on what works for me and what I love now that I'm in my thirties.

I prefer matte lipsticks because they stay put longer. On the down side they tend to dry up quickly. So when I find a matte that is creamy I end up buying it on repeat because that there is a keeper! This one by MAC is called Candy Yum Yum and it's my favorite bright pink. It's funny because before becoming a momma I hardly wore lipstick. Since then, I started playing around with more color and here we are! This is a color that I think you have to try on to see if you love it. You might be surprised once you try it on. It's fun and I love that it's a contrast to darker shades in the winter months!

I love a good red and this one I just can't quit! I think it's a classic color that every make-up wearer needs in their arsenal. Mac has a lot of great options like Ruby Woo  and Dita Von Teese but this one is just as punchy and costs a half less! I love that it doesn't dry up and is so creamy! The last time I wore it and went to Mac to pick up a new lipstick the girls immediately asked me if it was Ruby Woo so ha! It's actually Maybelline Siren in Scarlett and this is my favorite shade ever. It's the red you'll usually see in my pics.

I love a good vampy berry and this Rebel by Mac does the trick. It isn't matte but I love how creamy (word of the day!) it is. But it hinestly does not flake or dry up. The color pay-off is great and it lasts. I also recently found its less expensive counterpart again by Maybelline (they have some good stuff!) called Blissful Berry.

I know the term "nude" is relative to your skin tone but for this post's purpose I am going to call this shade nude for me. I have been looking for one for a while now since my last favorite, Cream Cup by Mac went missing (no doubt Gabriel hid it somewhere, lol!). It has more pink to it but it's so pretty on. Sometimes if I want to make my nude look more intense I put on a bit of my concealer first then add my lipstick on top. I use Studio Fix by MAC. I recently went to Sephora and found this shade Milky Way by Laura Mercier pictured. It's more expensive than I would like to spend on a lipstick but it was the perfect shade I have been on the hunt for. Plus momma's we have to treat ourselves every once in a while! ;)

To wipe off all of my lipsticks I use makeup wipes (my favorite are these from Costco). My lips have been so dry lately that I also use a sugar scrub to keep my lips soft. I love this homemade recipe!

Now tell me- what's your favorite lipstick?! I would LOVE to know!
