I hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was pretty quiet and full of lots of indoor fun while we watched all of the snow fall. I just love snow and I'm so excited that we finally have some here in Milwaukee.
I've been meaning to write this post for quite some time! Throughout last year I had a few lovely ladies ask me about my curls and what I use to style them. I talk more about my natural hair journey here.
I am by no means a curly hair expert but after growing out my natural hair for almost 4 years now I feel much more confident about what works.
I hope this guide helps give all of my curly hair readers some ideas on what to use to style your curls. I'll be posting several different entries as I find more products that work. On Instagram I'll be saving them under the hashtag #MIMCurlyhairdiaries.
As always if you have any questions, comments or suggestions let me know below or on Instagram! Happy Monday!

As far as price this conditioner is a little bit on the higher-end. However, I can use this as a leave-in conditioner and it's amazing. I love it because a little goes a long way. But that also depends on what type of curly look you're going for. I always use this in conjunction with the curly custard. Also, I bust this out only when I want a more "wet" curl look.
2. Shea Moisture Shampoo drugstore.com drugstore.com
I cannot express enough how much I love this shampoo and conditioner! I've used it for almost 4 years and I haven't switched. It is very moisturizing since my natural hair has a tendency to be dry. It also smells amazing! I love that it is all-natural and organic. I try to use products that do not have any alcohol in them because that would only dry my curls and ruin it's natural beauty. This shampoo enhances my natural glow and my hair is so incredibly healthy now.
2. Shea Moisture Conditioner drugstore.com
As with the shampoo this conditioner is great! I also use it as a leave-in to style my hair. Some times I use the curling custard after to provide hold otherwise it's a quick way to style my hair since I just don't wash it out after I wash my hair with the shampoo. Using it as a leave-in also provides the perfect "dry" curl look I love for top-knots and other hairstyles.

3.Kinky Curly custard styling product beauty.com
As with the leave-in conditioner a little of this goes a long way! I use this after I put any of my leave-in conditioners to provide more hold and shine. I have never used this alone because it will leave my hair very dry and flaky. It also gives my curls that "wet" look even if it's completely dry.
4.Cantu Repair Cream moisturizer amazon.com
I use this leave-in as a styler after I wash my hair. I usually never use anything else in my hair when I use this product. It provides a really healthy glow to my hair. However, I don't use this daily. I only use it about once a week for variety in my routine. As a rule I do not wash my hair more than twice a week. That's why I prefer this leave-in because my curls stay more in tact with it in. My curls are very thick and the provides the right amount of heaviness and moisture. Also the next day I usually have the perfect "dry" curl. And it smells amazing! I get compliments every time I use it.
I hope this helps you maintain your curly hair!
